ABOUT

Garrett Grimm is a community leader, educator, and advocate for responsible leadership. He believes the role of sheriff is to serve the people, protect constitutional rights, build trust, and ensure the Sheriff’s Office remains transparent, accountable, and focused on the needs of Gallatin County.

Rather than coming from a traditional law enforcement career, Garrett brings a fresh perspective rooted in collaboration, problem-solving, and community engagement. He believes strong leadership isn’t defined solely by a career path—it’s defined by integrity, sound judgment, the ability to bring people together, and a willingness to listen before acting.

As the co-founder and president of the Gallatin Community Gun Club, Garrett has helped build an organization dedicated to firearm safety, education, first aid, preparedness, and community connection. Under his leadership, the club has grown into an inclusive organization where people from all backgrounds can develop practical skills, build confidence, and support one another in a safe and respectful environment.

Outside of his community work, Garrett enjoys spending time outdoors and taking advantage of everything Montana has to offer. Whether he’s hiking local trails, camping, fishing, spending time at the shooting range, or exploring public lands, he has a deep appreciation for the natural beauty and outdoor traditions that make Gallatin County such a special place to call home. He also enjoys volunteering in the community, mentoring new firearm owners, and helping others gain the knowledge and confidence to be safe, responsible, and prepared.

Garrett believes that effective public safety begins with strong relationships between law enforcement and the community. His vision for the Gallatin County Sheriff’s Office emphasizes transparency, accountability, fiscal responsibility, collaboration with community partners, and support for the deputies and staff who serve the county every day.

Garrett is running for sheriff because he believes Gallatin County deserves leadership that is approachable, accountable, and focused on the future. He is committed to earning the community’s trust through professionalism, integrity, and a steadfast dedication to protecting the rights, safety, and well-being of every resident.
